What are rape drugs ?
Drugs used to prey on people with the intent to rob, harm or sexually assault them by a person who knows how they work and plans to use them. They come in a variety of tasteless and odorless powders, pills or liquids. Sixteen to twenty four years old are most at risk with September through November being the most vulnerable time period for a sexual assault with or without rape drug use.
Drugs such as:
*Rohypnol also known as Roofies, Roach, R2
*GHB or gamma-hydroxybutyrate also known as Liquid Ectasy, Grevious Bodily Harm or Liquid G
*Ketamine also known as Special K
*Alcohol in spiked drinks
These drugs, when slipped unknown into a drink, causes ‘staggering drunk’ effects in a very short time with severe dizziness, confusion, slurred speech, impaired motor ability, leaving the victim unable to resist an attach, or completely unconscious. The drug used often caused amnesia or blackout, so that the person is unable to remember what happened to them or who they were with. The effects are felt within 15 to 30 minutes.
